Synopsis
Conan has become king of Aquilonia and, despite his history of wanderlust, proves to be a steady, compassionate, and just king. When the evil power of the ancient wizard Xaltotun is unleashed upon his kingdom, Conan is forced to go into hiding and pursue the magical gem responsible for reviving the long-dead Xaltotun, and necessary to defeat the vile sorcerer.
Conan, loses and regains a kingdom through lands of mystery and enchantment as he fights this evil sorcerer from the mythical past.
Biography of the author
Robert Ervin Howard (1906 – 1936) wrote pulp fiction in a diverse range of genres. He is well known for his character Conan the Barbarian and is regarded as the father of the sword and sorcery subgenre. He is also the creator of the characters Solomon Kane and Kull.
From the age of nine he dreamed of becoming a writer of adventure fiction but did not have real success until he was 23. Thereafter, until his death by suicide at age 30, Howard's writings were published in a wide selection of magazines, journals, and newspapers, and he became proficient in several subgenres. His greatest success occurred after his death.
