Antonio Santos Mercero, uno de los dos guionistas de la novela gráfica EL VIOLETA, ha sido ganador el viernes 15 de octubre del Premio Planeta 2021 por la novela LA BESTIA, coescrita junto a otros dos escritores (Jorge Díaz y Agustín Martínez) bajo el pseudónimo de Carmen Mola.
Juan Sepúlveda y Antonio Santos Mercero son los guionistas de EL VIOLETA, una novela gráfica sobre la represión de los homosexuales en el franquismo dibujada por Marina Cochet.
El Premio Planeta 2021 fue entregado por el Rey Felipe VI a los ganadores y está dotado con una cuantía de 1 millón de euros. Actualmente es el premio literario con mayor dotación económica del mundo, por encima del Premio Nobel de Literatura.
Antonio Santos Mercero es autor de otras cuatro novelas: El final del hombre, La cuarta muerte, La vida desatenta y El caso de las japonesas muertas. También es el guionista de series de televisión como Hospital Central, Lobos o MIR.
A writer of the comic EL VIOLETA wins the Planeta 2021 Award
Antonio Santos Mercero, one of the two writers of the graphic novel EL VIOLETA, has won on Friday, October 15, the Planeta 2021 Award for the novel LA BESTIA, co-written with two other writers (Jorge Díaz and Agustín Martínez) under the pseudonym Carmen Mola.

The Planeta 2021 Prize was presented by King Felipe VI to the winners and is endowed with 1 million euros. It is currently the literary prize with the largest financial endowment in the world, above the Nobel Prize for Literature.
